The choice of materials plays a pivotal role in shaping the design’s mid-century character. The use of natural teak and walnut wood lends warmth and depth to the space, while clean lines and simple geometric forms ensure a sense of order and clarity. The neutral palette is punctuated by bold pops of olive green, adding vibrancy without overwhelming the overall aesthetic. The design also embraces a blend of vintage and contemporary elements, integrating modern lighting fixtures and carefully selected furniture to create a cohesive yet dynamic environment. The result is a space that feels both timeless and current, embodying the enduring appeal of mid-century design.

The design of Harum Cake is a study in balance, harmonizing the needs of the customer with the aesthetic and functional demands of the space. Mid-century principles are evident in the thoughtful layout, which prioritizes efficiency and flow, ensuring an intuitive journey through the store.
Large windows invite natural light to flood the interior, creating a bright, airy environment that feels open and welcoming. The use of organic shapes and sculptural elements—whether in statement lighting fixtures or curved display tables—brings a touch of artistry to the space, connecting the interior to the natural world outside.
