The complex activities of the occupants influence architectural design. The desire of occupants to feel comfortable while relaxing and working simultaneously becomes a primary consideration in the planning process.
To accommodate the desires and needs of the client, aspects that support the creation of the desired space are necessary. Natural elements can provide a touch of freshness through good lighting and ventilation. Therefore, large openings that can serve as views in the central activity area are needed. In addition, attention to the scale of the room is also important to create a sense of spaciousness in areas that are actually narrow. By considering the integration of the interior space with the exterior areas, comfort in indoor activities can be achieved.
The client's desire to create a sense of spaciousness in a narrow area is the main focus of this design. By separating the workspace and relaxation area with only a difference in floor level, the room appears more "open" from front to back.
This design takes advantage of the existing land conditions, which have a slight difference in level at the back, allowing that area to have a sufficient ceiling height. This area is designed to accommodate primary activities such as working, relaxing, and kitchen activities. Large openings on the front and back sides of the building also enhance the sense of spaciousness, in addition to the height of the ceiling. The use of natural stone materials creates a tropical ambiance, while the combination with wooden materials adds a warm touch to this building.
