RM House embraces a tropical contemporary style. This style seamlessly integrates sleek design elements with functional spaces, characterized by clean lines and a minimalist color palette that defines its exterior.
RM House features a neutral color palette complemented by natural wood accents, creating an inviting and warm atmosphere throughout the house. These design choices contribute to a cozy ambiance while ensuring affordability without compromising on style.

Situated on contour land in Pecatu, Bali, RM House utilizes the natural topography to create a unique and distinctive design. This dwelling spans two stories with a rooftop, and the ground floor is strategically positioned at a different level from the land's contours. This variation in height adds both visual interest and functional space to the overall design. In addition to its eye-catching features, this two-story home boasts a compact design that maximizes space utilization, making it an ideal choice for those on a budget. The ground floor serves as a garage, service area, guest bedroom with a shared bathroom, and an open living area. To meet our client's requests for separate entrances for guests and cars, we've incorporated a dedicated guest entrance on the left side and a discreet car entrance leading to an integrated garage. This design ensures convenience and privacy while preserving the home's aesthetics. Moving to the second floor, we'll find the master and children's bedrooms, and the rooftop serves as a gym or yoga area.
The imposing wall facade not only creates a striking first impression but also serves a practical purpose by shielding the interior from the heat, particularly given its west-facing orientation. As a result, service and utility areas are thoughtfully placed on the west side. Indoors, an open living area overlooking the pool promotes fluidity between rooms.
Abundant strategically placed openings throughout the house facilitate excellent airflow, ensuring a comfortable living environment. Whether in the living room with its high ceiling or the upper-floor bedrooms, this design prioritizes natural ventilation, reducing the need for excessive air conditioning. This not only reduces energy consumption but also lowers utility bills, aligning with the client's environmental consciousness. Moreover, the inclusion of a pool in the outdoor area enhances the cooling effect within the house. The pool functions as a natural heat sink, absorbing excess heat during the day and helping to maintain a cooler interior temperature during hot seasons. Both the client and the designer share a common concern for cross ventilation, recognizing its pivotal role in creating a pleasant and sustainable living environment.

In the end, this combination of contemporary design, cross ventilation, thoughtful spatial planning, and respect for the land's contours culminates in a two-story home that harmoniously blends style and practicality.
