The philosophy that we want to bring in this project is Coastal Monolith: Brutalist Beach Retreat.

Synergizing Human, Space, and Nature

“Coastal Monolith” embraces the austere and raw aesthetics of Brutalism while adapting to the serene and expansive nature of a beach setting. The villa’s design focuses on integrating the bold, concrete forms of Brutalism with functional, open spaces that enhance the experience of coastal living.

Raw Brutalism
At the heart of Raw Brutalism lies the concept of Material Honesty, where raw, exposed concrete serves as the primary material, showcasing the unrefined beauty of the Brutalist aesthetic. This approach not only emphasizes the structural integrity of the building but also evokes a sense of authenticity and permanence. Complementing the concrete, additional raw materials like steel and glass are thoughtfully incorporated, adding depth and contrast to the design while enhancing its industrial character. Alongside this materiality, the design focuses on Geometric Forms, with strong, monolithic shapes that create a powerful visual impact. The emphasis on bold geometric lines fosters a sense of strength and stability, establishing the villa as a striking presence against its natural surroundings, and inviting a dialogue between the built environment and the rugged landscape.

Beachfront Integration
In crafting the villa, a Seamless Transition is paramount, allowing the design to blend harmoniously with the natural beach environment. This integration maximizes views of the ocean and incorporates elements that resonate with the sandy landscape, ensuring that the villa feels like a natural extension of its surroundings. Large openings and thoughtful positioning of the structure facilitate unobstructed vistas, inviting the beauty of the beach indoors. To enhance this connection with nature, the design features Open Spaces that are expansive, airy, and flooded with natural light. The layout encourages a flow between indoor and outdoor areas, allowing occupants to experience the beachfront location fully. This openness not only fosters a sense of freedom but also creates a serene environment, perfect for relaxation and contemplation.
