Understanding that the architectural design stands as a masterpiece in its own right, our approach to interior design is one of harmonious complementation.
Synergizing Human, Space, and Nature
Departing from the organic architectural concept of the beach club, reminiscent of a nest with its gracefully curved roof adorned with bamboo slats, our focus shifted towards optimizing the overall layout to cater to the diverse needs of our guests. With a mindful approach, we adapted the space to seamlessly transition from accommodating breakfast patrons in the morning to fostering a more relaxed, lounge-like ambiance throughout the day. Through thoughtful design considerations, we ensured that every corner of the establishment exudes a welcoming atmosphere, inviting guests to savor moments of tranquility or vibrant social interaction, in alignment with their preferences and the spirit of the beach club experience. This delicate balance ensures that neither the architectural nor interior elements overpower one another, but instead work in tandem to create an immersive and unforgettable environment for all who visit.

Samma Studio was enlisted midway through the construction process, stepping in to address challenges the Client encountered with their previous designer. Tasked with the design of the new beach club in Sanur, our focus was on creating a multifaceted establishment centred around dining and wellness experiences. The all-day dining area was meticulously crafted to cater to staying guests, seamlessly transitioning from a breakfast haven to a laid-back lounge ambiance as the day progresses. Complementing this culinary aspect, the wellness centre offers a holistic array of services, featuring a retail area, hair salon, and spa facilities. Our collaborative effort aims to not only meet but exceed the expectations of the Client, ensuring the beach club emerges as a beacon of relaxation and indulgence in the vibrant Sanur community.
Undoubtedly, one of the most significant challenges encountered in this project was the extensive involvement of stakeholders, ranging from the client and contractor to the construction manager and the Board of Designers (BOD), comprising architecture, interior, landscape, and lighting design consultants. This marked our inaugural participation in a project of such magnitude, particularly amid the complexities imposed by the global pandemic in 2020. With a lean team and constrained timeline, compounded by our late engagement in the midst of construction, navigating these multifaceted dynamics demanded resilience and resourcefulness. However, anchored by our unwavering commitment to design excellence, we embraced the challenge with determination. Despite the formidable circumstances, we harnessed our expertise and creativity to deliver innovative solutions that not only met but exceeded expectations. Through effective communication, collaboration, and an unwavering dedication to our craft, we successfully navigated the intricacies of this project, ensuring its realization as a beacon of architectural and design brilliance.
