Our Principal Designer,
Daf Ashari, joined
SONNE Stories as one of the featured speakers — a design talk series held to celebrate the
grand opening of SONNE’s new showroom in Bali.
The event brought together creative minds from across the island, hosted by
Anakata Series, founded by
Briantarra Ajibadi.
During the session,
Daf shared insights from one of our latest projects,
By The Sea, located in Berawa. The discussion explored how architecture can respond to Bali’s coastal lifestyle — finding balance between
openness and intimacy,
structure and fluidity, and
design intent and the natural rhythm of tropical living.
Jenfilia Suwandrei, founder of
SONNE, joined Daf as the moderator, guiding the conversation with warmth and depth.
“By The Sea” represents more than just a coastal retreat. It’s a study in how design can shape the atmosphere — how space, light, and texture come together to create a feeling that stays with you long after you leave.
Through conversations like SONNE Stories, we’re reminded of what drives us as designers: the exchange of ideas, the celebration of collaboration, and the shared pursuit of creating spaces that feel honest and alive.
We’re grateful to SONNE and Anakata Series for creating a platform that continues to connect Bali’s design community — one story at a time.
