The Clients envisioned Villa OMAO as a sanctuary deeply connected to nature, Their initial vision focused on creating a "Family Friendly" home in Pecatu, Bali

Synergizing Human, Space, and Nature

That thoughtfully responds to the site's natural contours and preserves the existing greenery and trees. The design intent was to maximize visual access to the surrounding landscape from within the interior spaces, fostering a strong connection to nature while utilizing materials that reflect harmony and "textured elegance" to create a space that feels both grounding and ever-changing.

The design of Villa OMAO is fundamentally anchored in the concept of Harmony, weaving together insights from Human, Space, and Nature into a singular, cohesive narrative. This triad drives the villa’s identity as a sanctuary, where the "Human" desire for a grounding, family-friendly retreat is met by a "Space" defined by textured elegance and natural warmth. The architecture acts as a mediator, creating a refined environment that supports the family's daily rhythms while maintaining a profound respect for the "Nature" that envelops it, ensuring the home feels like a living, breathing entity rather than just a structure.

In exploring the dynamic between Space and Nature, the material palette serves as the physical bridge. The built environment honors the earth through a mix of washed dark paints, teak veneers, and rugged limestone, effectively blurring the boundaries between the constructed and the organic.

This thoughtful selection allows the "Space" to feel like an extension of the outdoors, where the "textured elegance" of the interiors mirrors the raw beauty of the ulin wood slats and andesite stone, ensuring the structure feels indigenous to its tropical setting rather than an imposition upon it.

The connection between Human and Nature is fostered through the strategic preservation of the existing landscape. By prioritizing the protection of dense trees and green areas, the design ensures that the "Human" experience is constantly oriented toward the living world outside.

Visual access to greenery is maximized from every room, turning the lush surroundings into a living backdrop for family life. This approach transforms the home into a viewing platform for nature’s ever-changing beauty, fulfilling the clients' vision of a home that is as restorative as it is functional.

Ultimately, the synthesis of Human, Space, and Nature culminates in a distinct tropicality that transcends geography. The "Space" captures the spirit of the Omao Shore—the client's inspiration—by integrating the breezy, open qualities of Bali’s climate with the soulful imagery of Hawaii.

This harmony ensures that the "Human" inhabitants feel deeply connected to the "Nature" around them, living in a home that breathes with the ocean breeze and rests gently among the trees, embodying a perfect equilibrium of comfort, craft, and environment.
