Our client wanted to create a unique spot in Uluwatu that’s perfect for surfers who flock to its famous waves.

Synergizing Human, Space, and Nature

They envisioned a place that blends the area’s natural beauty with modern comforts, catering specifically to the surfing lifestyle. With a relaxed, tropical vibe and practical amenities for surfers, this accommodation aims to offer an authentic and enriching experience, making Uluwatu even more appealing to surf enthusiasts from around the world.

The architectural design emphasizes a harmonious blend of rustic and natural elements, achieved through the use of stilt steel structures, reclaimed ironwood (ulin), and wooden sirap roofing.

This choice of materials not only ensures durability and sustainability but also fosters a close-to-nature ambiance throughout the space. The stilt steel structure provides a modern foundation, while the reclaimed ironwood adds a touch of timeless elegance and character.
The wooden sirap roofing completes the vision, enhancing the overall aesthetic with its natural texture and charm, creating a cohesive design that resonates with the surrounding environment.
Situated on a sloping contour, this project smartly uses the natural terrain by incorporating varied building levels, minimizing the need for extensive cut and fill work. By utilizing only 50% of the land for construction, we create a spacious, open environment that contrasts with Bali's trend toward compact spaces, fostering a close-to-nature feel.
The open living areas feature large sliding doors that can be fully opened, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. Each bedroom includes a private garden, ensuring a continuous connection to nature throughout the villa. The outdoor lounge serves as the heart of the space, perfect for lounging, reading, or sunbathing.
Additionally, the villa includes a sauna and ice bath, emphasizing wellness and recovery. This thoughtful design prioritizes both efficiency and a serene, nature-focused living experience.
